SPECIAL EDUCATION

sports

The Special Education Curriculum was conceived with the notion that every child deserves access to education that they are able to benefit from. Students with special learning needs are provided with remedial learning sessions where they are taught with methods that they best respond to, by teachers that are trained to provide such guidance in the best way, because as a school, our duty is to the students and making sure that they are able to profit from everything we teach them.

The teachers focus on building skills and bringing out each student’s talents. The Remediation programme is offered to children after an assessment of their needs, and lessons are carried out via activity-oriented learning. Extracurricular activities such as art and sports are also an integral part of this program to ensure that our students get a well-rounded education.

For Independent learning to happen young minds have to be happy. This happiness needs to be given to them energetically and dynamically to enable each child to blossom and perform to his/her fullest potential.

Every child is unique and is not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.

The Remediation programme at MWA provides a unique experience for children with learning disabilities.

A team of dedicated and trained teachers provide a caring, non – judgemental and non-threatening environment and involve children in thought provoking and engaging sessions based on multipleIintelligences.

The teachers focus on building skills and nurturing talents of the children. The Remediation programme is offered to the children based on an assessment of their strengths and needs. An IEP, which is need- based is drawn out for the child and it focuses on buildingskills and activity oriented learning. We bridge the learning gap by strengthening the area of Phonemic awareness, Letter – Sound Association, reading, spelling, sentence strategies andmathematics using VAKT method.

Apart from academics, we also encourage and motivate our students to participate in extra curricularactivities and Sports to showcase their talents and help them surpass challenges.

Our students took part in MDA Dyslexia Day competitions and bagged the first place in “Art from waste” in Junior and Sub-Junior categories. The winners were awarded with the cash prize of 1000 INR.
