This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which M.W.A. Matriculation & Higher Secondary School ("we," "our," "us," or "School") collects, uses, maintains, and protects information collected from users ("you," "parents," "guardians," or "students") of the mobile application MWA Connect (Package ID: com.schoolparent.school_parent_app) and its web portal.

1. Purpose of the Application

MWA Connect is an educational and school communication application designed exclusively for parents and guardians of students enrolled at M.W.A. Matriculation & Higher Secondary School. The application facilitates access to attendance records, homework assignments, examination schedules and marks, fee payment receipts, school announcements, and administrative circulars.

2. Information We Collect

To provide school-to-parent administrative services, the following categories of information are processed:

• Student Academic & Profile Data: Student Admission Number / Student ID, student full name, enrolled class and section, academic performance, examination marks, daily attendance status, and disciplinary remarks. This information is provisioned directly from the school's secured administrative database.
• Parent & Guardian Information: Parent/guardian full name, relationship to student, registered contact mobile number, email address, and residential address as registered with the school.
• Authentication Credentials: Admission number, username, and encrypted password used to securely log in to the student profile.
• Device & Diagnostic Information: Operating system version, device model, and unique push notification identifiers (Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens) solely to deliver urgent school announcements, homework alerts, and attendance notifications.

3. How We Use Collected Information

We use the personal and student data solely for legitimate educational and administrative purposes:

• To display your child's daily attendance records, homework, and exam timetables.
• To transmit academic progress reports and report cards.
• To verify parent identity when linking sibling accounts under the same family contact number.
• To notify parents of urgent school announcements, circulars, weather closures, or emergency notices.
• To maintain security, prevent unauthorized access to student records, and ensure smooth app performance.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosure

We take data privacy very seriously. We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize personal or student information to third parties or advertisers.

Information is accessed strictly by authorized school administrators, teachers, and verified parents/guardians. Data may only be shared with third-party technical infrastructure providers strictly necessary to operate the service:

• Google Play Services & Firebase: For delivery of real-time push notifications and crash reporting.
• Cloudflare: For secure SSL encryption, DDoS mitigation, and hosting the web portal interface.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information only if required by applicable Indian law or in response to valid legal processes.

5. Children's Privacy

Our app is intended for use by parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information directly from children under 13 without parental consent. All student academic records displayed in the app are provisioned and managed by M.W.A. Matriculation & Higher Secondary School's administration with the consent of the enrolled child's parent or legal guardian.

6. Data Security & Storage

We implement strict industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit between the app and school servers, restricted database access controls, and hashed password storage. However, no electronic transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% immune from security threats.

7. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

In accordance with Google Play User Data policies, users have the right to request the deletion of their personal data:

• Retention Period: Student and parent data is retained for the duration of the student's active enrollment at M.W.A. Matriculation & Higher Secondary School and in accordance with statutory school archival regulations.
• Account / Data Deletion Request: Parents wishing to delete their app account, unlink children, or request deletion of personal contact details may do so by contacting the school administration via email at mwamsmhss@gmail.com or visiting the school administrative office with valid identification. Upon verification, the requested account access and associated app tokens will be promptly removed within 30 business days.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable legal/regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted directly to this URL (https://www.mwaschool.org/privacy_policy.html) with an updated effective revision date.
