M.W.A. Matriculation & Higher Secondary School

Welcome to MWA

M.W.A. Matriculation & Higher Secondary School is run by The Muslim Women’s Association, Madras. It is a non-profit organisation started in 1961, as a small Nursery School with 40 children on its rolls by a small band of Muslim Women dedicated to the cause of educating the poor sector of all communities under the presidentship of the late Begum Nazir Hussain.

SPORTS & ACTIVITIES

Sport and physical activity is a valued and accepted part of our school's curriculum, contributing to the development of the child as a whole. It provides a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning and is an important expression of our culture.

INTER SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

Our students participated in various Inter-school competitions and won laurels for the school.

SCHOOL COUNCILS AND CLUBS

M.W.A has always motivated the students to participate in co - curricular activities apart from academics.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

"Dyslexia is not a disease, it's a neurological problem that affects only academics. Hence called as learning disability."

NIOS

MWA has always focussed on providing a strong platform for children with multiple intelligences. Continuing on this path to success the school has added yet another laurel to its credit by providing children with an opportunity to learn through NIOS, an open school curriculum stream.

COUNSELLING

"Counselling is an interactive process conjoining the counsellee who needs assistance and the counsellor who is trained and educated to give this assistance".
